When the cost of food kept rising and good-quality local produce became harder to find, we started questioning: what should real food look like? Out of that question, Farnborough Farms was born.
Today, our farm is spread across two beautiful properties - 500 acres of untouched coastal country at Maryvale, and 5acres in Farnborough. From these pastures we raise pork and lamb the way nature intended: sustainable, ethical, and delicious. Our dream is simple: to offer our community food they can trust—produce that’s local, honest, and full of flavour.
At Farnborough Farms, we're committed to sustainable and responsible farming practices. We use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to ensure that our crops are healthy and free from harmful chemicals. Our animals are raised in spacious and clean environments, with plenty of access to fresh air and sunshine. Purebred heritage Wessex Saddleback pigs
These rare heritage breed of pig have excellent fat coverage and produce a succulent marbled meat. They are suited well for pasture and have strong rooting behaviour. Their lard is suitable for cooking and cosmetics, and they are a strong and hardy animal.
Their diet consists of pig pellets, local sourced family-farmed chickpeas, foraged grass, roots, seasonal produce. Our Wessex pigs are free to roam across several large paddocks on a rotational basis to support soil health and animal health.
Our Saddleback pork is rich in nutrients, ethically raised, and consistently delivers quality great tasting meat.

When Jarad had the chance to take on the 500-acre coastal farm at Maryvale, he committed to make it productive again.
Through a system of regenerative agricultural practices, Farnborough Farms is committed to ethical and sustainable regenerative agriculture as opposed to commercial agriculture.
Regenerative agriculture is better for the environment, and the animals, and in the end the families that eat the produce.

Welcome to Farnborough Farms!
We’re Jarad and Heather Marsh, and together with our two beautiful children, we live on the stunning Capricorn coast of Queensland. Our home farm is located on rich, fertile soils in Farnborough, Yeppoon — land that we feel deeply connected to and incredibly grateful for. Our families have lived in the Central Queensland area for generations, so our coastal farm paradise is steeped in local heritage and knowledge.
We both have hands-on experience in farming and a shared passion for sustainable living. Heather is a teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Animal Production) who loves spending time with our sheep babies or inviting Jarad to take a romantic stroll through the orchard. Jarad is a boilermaker by trade and holds a Diploma in Horticulture. He’s been farming on family land in Yeppoon since childhood, and when he’s not tending to the land, you’ll find him out on the water, enjoying a quiet day fishing.
Together, we founded Farnborough Farms with a simple but powerful purpose:
to provide our community with nutritious, ethical, and sustainable produce grown with care and respect for the land. Every product we offer reflects our values — honest food, responsibly farmed, and full of flavour.
